Temple Beth Israel is truly an extended family for its members. All of us are from someplace else and most are geographically separated from children and grandchildren. As Temple Beth Israel grew,we added a  unique dimension to what Temple is.   In addition to being a House of Worship, a place to learn and celebrate, we evolved into an extended family since we are here to share friendships, simchat and provide family-like support to our members with whom we share our Jewish heritage.

Temple Beth Israel is a Center of Jewish Living located on Longboat Key, and drawing membership from Sarasota and Bradenton, as well. We are primarily an adult community with few families with school-age children.  Sixty percent of our members are full-time residents and are either fully or semi-retired.  We have an agenda of spiritual, social, cultural and educational programs specifically geared to the style and interests of our members and community.

We're proud that our members are found in many leadership roles in community-wide Jewish and secular organizations and activities not only in Sarasota but nationally and internationally.  Temple Beth Israel is committed to support the local, national and international Jewish Community and particularly the State of Israel.
